Audio Codec 0X2000 Dolby Ac3 Ac3 Software Like Kodi
Description: The ac3 frame header has, similar to the mpeg-audio header a version field. In order for the file to be correctly decoded and output, a DVD player with a Dolby Digital compatible home cinema system is required.Codec Name: (Dolby) AC3. The format is used for audio on many DVD and Blu-Ray media. USA (408) 492-2000 A.79 Dolby AC3 SPDIF 0x0092 audio/vnd.wave codec92.I've been trying to play an xvid file (AVI ext.) containing ac3 5.1 audio, straight from my PC directly to a Hitachi plasma screen with audio going via firewire to a RME Fireface 800 then via SPDIF to a Sony STR-VA555ES amp.ac3: Category: Audio File: Description: AC3 is an audio file specifically developed by Dolby Digital to provide surround sound audio. Many TV boxes cannot play videos with Dolby Digital (AC3 ) audio because they lack the license, except if you use software like Kodi that downmixes the audio, but most apps won’t, and MX Player developers had to remove AC3 support from the Android app previously.Section A - Audio Codecs from the Microsoft WAVE Registry A.1 Microsoft Unknown. Dolby Digital (AC3) US Patent Has Expired on February 1, 2017.
Dolby TrueHD supports up to 24-bit audio and sampling rates from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz. Audio = "448 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x2000 = AC-3 ACM Decompressor".Dolby TrueHD, also known as MLP, is a lossless audio codec used widely on HD and UHD Blu-ray Discs. All confirm that video = xvid. I've done a codec "scan" on it with Gspot, Auto GK & AVIcodec.

There's dialogue in the centre, background chatter in L & R front and music & atmospherics etc in the rear speakers and it all SOUNDS good. There's sound in all six speakers (including sub). I've got my Sony amp (groovy little multi-channel-decoding blue light blazing away there!!) reading it as 3/2. It appears that AC3Filter is the guy doing the honours but like I say, only with that player!!1.) Is the WMP mentioned here actually the MPC you guys are reffering to? If not then what is it?2.) If it IS then is MPC 6.4.8.8 the latest version of it and will my beloved 5.1 still work?3.) How come this player seems to be the only one to get the 5.1 thing going on or is there a way one can "point" other players in the "right" direction? There are two fields in ac3 header to define the number of channels: ACMOD (Values: 0.7) and LFEON (Values: 0/1).ACMOD front/rear channels LFEon LFEoff Description (Dolby ProLogic equivalent)2 2/0 - L, R - 2.0 Stereo (can be encoded DPL)5 3/1 - L, C, R, S 3/1.1 3/1.0 Simple Surround (3/1.0 -> DPL I)6 2/2 - L, R, SL, SR 2/2.1 2/2.0 Quadraphonic7 3/2 - L, C, R, SL, SR 5.1 5.0 Standard Surround (5.0 -> DPL II)At present the standards are 2.0 and 5.1 with typical bitrates:If your Media Info analysis is OK you have a stereo 2.0 with atypical bitrate 448 Kb/s.Also there are another field in ac3 header to say if a 2.0 is Dolby ProLogic encoded: DSURMOD (Values: 0.3)If this field is set to 2 (Dolby Surround encoded) your Decoder/Receiver can be set automatically in DPL decode mode sending output to all speakers. If this field is set to another value than 2 you can force manually the DPL decode but the result is not guaranteed.Really? Well. !!2CALSS, (To cut a long story short) I guess you can see what's coming.
Normal route with PC sound system with spdif out -> ac3Filter/FFDShow dynamic ac3 encoding -> spdif(6ch ac3) -> (firewire 800) -> ""3. -> audio decoder(ac3filter/ffdshow/.)->(6ch upmix dsp)-> fireface 800 firewire sound device-> firewire(6ch pcm) -> fireface 800 -> spdif -> Sony STR-VA555ES-MP or MPC-2. JesusI got just overwhelmed by the equipments introduced.*.avi-> avi demuxer-> video decoder-> video renderer -> HDTV interface->Hitachi plasma screen1. If your receiver says 3/2.1 either it's too retarded to know the difference, or the signal gets processed and converted to 5.1 before it reaches the receiver. Also your receiver has its own processing and it can output in several dsp forms, so what you hear from the speakers is not necessarily what the original audio was.So get urself together, all i did was just point out what i saw from ur avi analysis. With the whole xvid thing, can (genuine) 5.1 be embedded in those 2 trax (he asked, absolutely wincing at his own question!!)?Before you get 2 excited and start talking out of your ass, take a closer look the file analysis YOU SHOWED US, it says 2 channels (2.0).

Demux to ac3 and perform : test play, fix(ac3Fix, besplit ac3 fix.), try opening it as 6ch-ac3-raw stream with applications like softEncode(ac3 encoder).Btw, because the DPL(II) containers are not limited to DD2.0(aac, ogg, wav/pcm, mp3.with no DPL meta info), the actual verification can be achieved mostly through DPL (II) decoding to 6ch(s/w, h/w). Check if the source volume matrix in ffdshow or ac3filter before upmixing has 6ch/2ch bars fluctuating.
